With the latest British Government, it might be an idea to read and inwardly digest the following:
Former Police Officer Exposes Two-Tier Policing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KsIwc2gx4o. What do you do if you get a knock on the door?
Give yourself a once over. Is it unifomed policemen knocking, have you committed a crime, had an exciting conversation, do you have a recorder to hand?
If you committed crime, you are supposed to know you committed it. You do not usually committ crimes unintentionally. A guilty mind plus a guilty action minus any defence constitutes a crime but it still needs proof in a court of law. Have you been: Stalking, Harrassing Threatening or Harming comebody?
Ask are you investigating for a crime or for anon-crime?
If they are investigating for a crime swith on your recording device. At that point the may caution you. If you are suspected of crime authorities have to caution you. Do not say or agree to anything with professional advice. You need advice, time to think and time to get hold of a solicitor. Asked to an interview do not accept the “invitation under caution”, alone.
If you refuse the invitation they may then arrest you. Ask what happens if you refuse. They only have to tell you once. They do not have to explain further, nor will they explain to any later third party that is not a witness. Nor will they do so except in court of law. This advice applies to phone calls. These days governments farm out to quasi-legal firms, complaints from social media. So be double careful what you say on a telephone.
